Amokachi set for comeback with Esperance
TUNIS, Dec 5 (Reuters)
Tunisian club Esperance are on the verge of signing former
Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi, who is seeking a
comeback to the game to boost his chances of playing in next
year's World Cup finals.
Club officials said on Wednesday a verbal agreement had been
reached with the striker and a contract was expected to be
signed with the 28-year-old later in the week.
The former Everton player has been out of top class football
with a long term knee injury for almost two years, having
last played at Besiktas in Turkey in 1999.
Amokachi played at the last two World Cup finals for Nigeria.
